CRIM B1

Introduction to Criminal Justice

TERM PAPER ASSIGNMENT (Delano) Prof. Feer

Your Term Paper is Due March 22, 2018. Papers received after that will be penalized 10% of the paper’s points per week.

There is an ancient Chinese curse – “May you live in interesting times!” We live in the most of interesting times. Accordingly, you are invited to write on any topic that is of interest to you related to Crime, the Criminal Justice System, and its processes.

Your term paper should be between seven to fourteen pages and address a specific topic or issue. (If you have no idea what to write about, start by looking at the table of contents in the textbook. If you still have no idea, then talk to me.) I am not as concerned with length and comprehensiveness as I am with quality, both in form and substance. I hope you will make this a “little masterpiece.”

Your paper may take the form of either an annotated bibliography with introduction and summary commentary, or it may be a formal essay addressing crime or a criminal justice process or issue. In either case, it must conform to a recognized academic style guide. (Check with the library or book store.)

The paper must be double-spaced and typed or produced from a good quality printer so that it may be easily read. (Use a 14 Font.)

Use only a paper cover page following a format in your style guide. Do NOT put your paper into a plastic or cardboard folder. Section and subsection headings are strongly recommended to keep your composition organized and in logical outline sequence.
Staple your pages together at the top left only!

Your paper may not be returned immediately after the term, so make an additional copy for yourself if you wish to have one. (I will try to return your papers with comments on or before the final exam.)

Your paper should incorporate at least three pertinent references which can be located in a library or on the internet. If you have questions concerning library research, talk to a Liberian early in the semester!

If you have any questions, talk to me!
