Scholarship Guidelines
- Recipient must be affiliated with a chartered FFA chapter.
- Applicant must be willing to receive the initial year Scholarship at the State FFA Convention.
- Applicants must be in the 12th grade.
- Recipient must enter post-secondary education during the Fall Semester following high school graduation and the year of their selection or must request an extension, in writing, from the scholarship committee based only on an emergency situation. Failure to do this will result in forfeiture of the scholarship.
- Money will be awarded to the winner after beginning their educational studies at a university, college, or other institution that qualifies as an institution of higher education. Money will be sent directly to the institution.
- The scholarship may be applied toward tuition at any post-secondary institution, fees, books and supplies, etc. with the intent of becoming an agriculture teacher. By the junior year (3rdyear), winner must be enrolled in an agricultural education program at a four year university.
- A copy of confirmed enrollment by a school official at the post-secondary institution must be submitted to the Alabama FFA Alumni Association before payment of scholarship will be distributed to the school. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the scholarship.
- The Alabama FFA Alumni officers and Mr. Tim Watson of HomeTown Lenders will serve as the Scholarship Committee. Any questions can be directed to Dr. Barry Bailey at (256) 523-1468.
- At least one $1000 scholarship will be awarded each year. Scholarship will be renewed yearly for a total period of no more than 4 years.
- After the initial year of the scholarship, the student must submit a yearly application of intent to confirm their goal of completing a degree in agricultural education.
