DRIVING INFO:
§ Driving and Safety Tips:
If you do not have a USAREUR license you must have an international license. European driving laws are a bit different than U.S. driving laws. The most important difference, the car from your right always has the right-of-way unless you are on the Autobahn, or otherwise indicated. The rules are the same whether you are on base, or off base. In general there are no right turns on red lights, although there are some exceptions at some intersections. If there is an exception it is clearly identified with a right turn arrow. You cannot park in a space that is painted yellow. You can park in spaces painted blue or white, or where there are big “P” signs. You must put a parking ticket on the dash in your car. Watch for limited time parking areas for which you must place a special parking pass on the dashboard.
§ Driving directions to LRMC:
− From Frankfurt Airport-
Take A-5, direction Stuttgart/Basel, then A-6, in direction Kaiserslautern, Saarbruecken. Exit A-6 at Landstuhl West, direction Pirmasens, A-62.
− From A-62 - Take 2nd exit Landstuhl-West/Haupstuhl, at T-intersection turn right; follow directions to US Medical Center/ Zweibruecken. As you drive up the hill you can practice your Mario Andretti routine. After approximately 1 mile, just before a sharp curve to the right the road forks, aim to the left. This takes you to Gate 3 (the only driving entrance to LRMC).
**Note: This exit is identified on Map 2 below as EXIT Landstuhl/Atzel
− From A-62 – If you should miss the 2nd exit from A-62, take the next exit, Landstuhl-Atzel; at the T-intersection turn left, follow this road until you come to another intersection, turn right. At the next opportunity, just before a sharp curve to the left, turn right again in direction to Gate 3.
**Note: This exit is identified on Map 2 below as US Hospital/Martinshoehe.
ENTRY INFORMATION: (for the Kaiserslautern Military Community Installations)
You must have a pass to enter any of the gates. The pass can be ID/CAC card, or LN pass.
§ LRMC Gates:
o Gate 3 – Vehicles and Pedestrians – (No exit for vehicles during morning arrival times)
o Gate 2 – Vehicles and Pedestrians – (Vehicles exit only, no entry)
o Gate 4 – Closed
o Gate 1 – Pedestrians only
§ Finding Building 3703 from Gate 3:
After entering through the gate stay on road to a T-intersection, turn right, turn right again, and take second left past the gas station, direction ‘Exit’. Recommend you park your vehicle in parking lot on right just prior to Gate 2 exit. Bldg 3703 is directly across the street from parking lot.
§ Finding Building 3703 from Gate 2:
Stay on sidewalk; take 2nd entry to building 3703. Go to basement, Room 1

Parking at LRMC is somewhat limited. Should you not find a space in the parking lot across from Bldg 3703, there may be a spot available behind Bldg 3703.
