Countryside Officer’s Reserve Report

Filming event for Hyundai commercial took place last month. On site

for 48 hours in the overflow car park. No major obstruction to public.

This has brought in £3,500 to the Trust who have requested feed-back from the Hyundai. Opportunities such as this represent a good income stream for the Trust. Possibly 3-5 similar events per year may be considered possible for the site.

Grass cutting in progress on Northern Fort – then on to the South Fort. More important floristic areas targeted first.

The sheep arrived to graze the Northern Fort on 2nd November and will remain until the week before Christmas. The Visitor Centre will be manned every day in November to help enforce the wearing of leads on all dogs. There are spare leads in both the Café and office if required.

Proposed 2017 Berry Head Calendar

There was much discussion on plans to print a Friends of Berry Head Calendar

It was agreed to hold a special meeting on Tuesday 8th December to consider this matter in more detail in the light of further information to be provided by Laura.

Bank

Trevor expressed concern at the ongoing delay in setting up a new bank account.

A visit to the Bank to set up a new Friends’ account and deposit monies

will be organised for Friday next week. Margot, Tom, and Pippa will attend. Another signatory is required.

Book Sales

Cash should be taken to Alex and Lucy in the café for safe keeping. Tom reported that the proceeds from the Ghost Hunt, organised by the Alex and Lucy, at the weekend, would be donated to the Friends. This amounted to £72 for which the Friends are extremely grateful.

Pond Refurbishment

Helen and Peter Brown have sourced fabric liner for the Pond. Replacement fencing & interpretation sign needs to be costed up. Work will hope to take place in January. Molly, the Trainee who had taken on this project, is now leaving to take up a new post.

Next Dog Show

This subject should be brought up at each meeting throughout the year to discuss organisation. John Allen would be happy to Judge again next year unless another appropriate person would be willing to take his place. Tom confirmed that the tannoysystem used at this year’s show had still to be booked

Next Meeting to discuss the Calendar will take place at 10:00am on 8th December within the Visitor Centre

The date and time of the next Friends meeting will be decided at this meeting.
