Constitution for TJ Robotics Club

Title of club: Robotics Club

Mission or Purpose: The Robotics Club integrates science, technology, engineering, and math with robotics. By expanding on general classroom curriculum, the program gives students hands-on experience in designing, building, and programming a team of robots, while developing leadership, teamwork, and project management skills that will prepare students for the future workforce. The goal of the robotics club is to design, build, and program working robots for the annual DC Regional Botball Competition.

Membership: Membership is defined as participating in the annual DC Regional Botball Competition, and/or attending the 8th period club meetings on a regular basis throughout the school year.

Elections: The officers for the next school year will be elected in the spring after the DC Botball Competition. All non-graduating students who participated with an official TJ team in the recent DC Botball competition are eligible to vote. If an officer is derelict in his/her duties, he/she may be removed by the Sponsor. His/her replacement will be elected by a vote of the club members.

Finances: The Robotics Club raises money by helping the Academic Boosters, asking companies to be sponsors, and fundraising. No dues will be collected. The funds are used as entry fees in the DC Botball Competition, which includes the Botball robot kit, a training session, and the competition itself.
