Just as in a real presidential election, the popular vote of the school determined the winner of the electoral votes. The candidate who received the most votes in each homeroom was awarded all of its electoral votes. The only exception to this rule is Mrs. Bosco’s homeroom (just like the states of Maine and Nebraska, Mrs. Bosco’s room splits their electoral votes between the candidates proportionally). There are a total of 410 electoral votes in our school. In order to win the school election, a candidate had to win 206 electoral votes. If no candidate won 206 electoral votes, the student council (the CLMS equivalent of the U.S. House of Representatives) would determine the winner of the school election.
