(Royalty Free Music)
Questions and Answers
- What is a “site”?
- A “site” is a single building. If a district consists of one contiguous building, K-12, then they will pay for only one site. If a district consists of more than one building, they will need to purchase a license for each building that will be utilizing the music.
- How often will I need to renew this license?
- This purchase is a one-time purchase and there are no subscription or renewal fees. It is considered to be a Lifetime License.
- May students or staff members “cut” or edit the music clips?
- Yes—they may cut, dice, slice and edit. The only restriction is that you cannot make a copy and sell it as royalty free music.
- May a school use this for background music during its morning announcements, or as music for their annual video yearbook?
- Absolutely yes! Provided the building has purchased the license, this is exactly the purpose of this music.
- May students or staff use this as part of their multimedia presentations?
- Absolutely yes! Provided the building has purchased the license, this is exactly the purpose of this music.
- May students use the music as part of a presentation that they may be creating and selling to others (i.e., parents)?
- Yes, this is permitted, as long as the sale is not for the purposes of selling royalty free music.
- What is the cost for this product?
- Regular price is $99 per volume (each volume includes three CDs); there are five volumes available. This price is per building. There is a special price for BOCES Media Coop Members—see attached. BOCES Media Coop members may offer this price to their component schools, providing that the BOCES coordinates the ordering and distribution.
- What does each building receive with their purchase?
- Each building will receive access to the files for each Volume purchased.
- May a building or district mount this music on a server?
- Yes! The Licensee may upload the purchased volumes to a school server for file sharing by the buildings purchasing the license.

- According to Barry B. Brit, Executive Producer of Soundzabound, they are already working on Volume 7.
