Mr. Oberweiser advises students to write to any interested colleges requesting any and all freshmen scholarships. Please make note of specific schools and their scholarships. Please feel free to contact Mr. Oberweiser about any of these programs.

COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Mr. Oberweiser would like to remind parents and member of the community of the ongoing efforts of the Community Assistance Scholarship Fund. This fund is providing more and more scholarships to graduates of Drummond High School. We would love any support folks could throw behind this effort.

PLAN AND PSAT TESTS

Mr. Oberweiser would like to advise sophomore and junior parents that the PLAN and PSAT tests are in. Students should visit with Mr. Oberweiser for their results and a test interpretation. These tests are important in that they prepare our students for the ACT and SAT college entrance examinations.

Financial Aid

In our recent Financial Aid night, it was mentioned that the FAFSA, the financial aid forms, should be filed by the 15th of February. Each student and parent, who plans on filing electronically, should get a PIN number now. Students also need to file for admission as well, since many institutions will not award aid until a student has been admitted. The FAFSA is the gateway to Pell Grants and subsidized loans. It is critically important for our students who plan to attend college. One can find links to these websites at the Drummond High School website/Guidance.

BOY’S & GIRL’S STATE INFO

Boys and Girls State applications have been distributed to junior class students. Girls State will take place from June 3rd through the 9th. Boys State will meet from June 11th through the 16th. These programs are excellent opportunities for our young people to learn about our government through a week long simulation experience. Leadership skills are also stressed. Please call Mr. Oberweiser if you have any questions. These applications will be due on February 15th.
