3 - ROLE PURPOSE:
Responsible for acting as Project Coordinator and / or Project Engineer as agreed for each project, including ultimate responsibility for all design, documentation, Fire Engineering Reports, administration, programming, financial control and liaison with Statutory Authorities for assigned projects (as applicable).
The Project Engineer (Senior) is responsible for client liaison and business development in assigned market areas.
4 - MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
Key Result Area / Accountabilities / Performance Indicators
Strategy / Actively support, contribute and drive to the Fire protection group specialist position as a high performance business unit. This includes supporting conventional multi-disciplinary projects whilst developing a more specialised skilled offering to address more difficult projects (both technically and process driven).
Finance / Achieve financial performance targets of Project where PC
1. Project Profit 10% project profit achieved
2. Debtor Days Project debtor days <60 days
3. Fees in Advance fees generated in advance
4. Negative WIP No write backs
Conforming to the local NDY office accounting timetable for Forecasts & Profit Reports and Invoicing. / Fully understand the contract
Identify and secure all variations in program and scope
Client / Understand our clients business
1. Attend "understanding our clients" sessions with key clients
2. Review Fire Protection Top Clients annual reports and present highlights
Use Deltek for CRM functions

External client feedback on a minimum of four (4) project which:
1. indicates satisfactory performance on 75% of projects / 1. quarterly “understanding our clients" sessions attended
2. Highlights presentation on one key client

2. Expense submission Consistently submitted on time
People / Actively seek and drive toward becoming the 2IC and support the Fire Protection Manager to enable them to perform more marketing and value creation. This is to be done with a view towards becoming accountable for certain aspects of the Fire Protection group.
Actively engage with their personal Balance Score Card (BSC) with minimum reviews/updates/meeting with the Section Manager (Fire Protection Manager) no less than every two (2) calendar months.
5- KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Internal / External / Team Memberships
·  The Project Engineer (Senior) reports to the Section Manager (Fire Protection Manager) with some functional responsibility to the Project Coordinator. / ·  NDY Clients / ·  Fire Protection Team
·  Fire Protection R&D committee (as requested to support R&D tasks by the Section Manager( Fire Protection Manager)
6- FREEDOM TO ACT:
This position operates under the general direction of the Section Manager (Fire Protection Manager) within established policies, procedures and guidelines.
When the Senior Fire Protection Engineer is acting as the NDY Project Coordinator they will have the freedom to act in relation technical issues associated with Fire Protection. Contractual and Fiscal deviations from established policies, procedures and guidelines should be referred to the Section Manager (Fire Protection Manager) in the first instance.

Proactive communications with Engineering Teams and TA/PA with respect to project timelines and deliverables.
8- QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Qualifications
Certificate of Engineering, Graduate Diploma or Engineering Degree
Experience
Minimum 5 years experience as a Senior Fire Protection Engineer/Consultant familiar with Australian NCC and relevant codes
Skills
Autodesk Autocad user
Autodesk Revit user – preferable
