This workshop is intended for students with previous experience with Authentic Movement who are familiar with the practice of tracking one’s direct experience in the present moment. The workshop, which will be conducted in an open circle format, will help train participants in how to speak as a witness to both their own experience and to those who are movers.

The learning objectives for the class are as follows:

1.  To experience the felt sense of the body in movement in relationship to sensations, images, thoughts, memories and feelings as they unfold in a safe environment.

2.  To increase the ability to access the active imagination in the body and articulate the experience.

3.  To increase the capacity to articulate what is observed in the witnessing process without projections.

4.  Therapists will be given coaching in the witnessing process and taught how to discern what to verbalize to a mover so that psychological safety is ensured. Parallels will be made from this process to the process of therapist, client.
