AP US Government and Politics Final Project

You may work with a partner, or individually, to create a presentation of your choice (PowerPoint, prezi, skit, other) to demonstrate your understanding of an issue that US citizens are facing today. You will be able to pick your issue from the list of issues (no two groups may do the same issue), or you may use another issue that has been approved by Mr. Rennell.

Your presentation will be 10-15 minutes and will need to include the following:

  1. A brief overview of your issue so that the class understands the issue.
  2. A summary of all relevant legislative acts and laws as they pertain to your issue.
  3. A summary of any relevant court decisions as they pertain to your issue.
  4. A summary of the impact the executive branch has had upon your issue.
  5. The current stance of our two major political parties as it pertains to your issue.
  6. A list and summary of the positions of any interest groups that are lobbying or have lobbied for and/or against your issue.
  7. An explanation of the impact mass media has had on your issue.
  8. An explanation of the impact public opinion has had on your issue.
  9. A prediction for the future as it relates to your issue.
  10. An explanation of the best way that an individual (you or classmates) could have an impact on the issue.
