Five persons, including one close friend of the victims, arrested for kidnapping and murder of two boys

They had demanded Rs. 1 crore and Rs.50 lacs as ransom money

Dead body of one victim recovered from the area of Kashi Ram Nagar, UP

The Special Operation Squad ofCrime Branch, Delhi Police has arrested five persons for the kidnapping and murder of two minor boys. The arrested persons are :-

2.Usman Khan @ Bunty S/o Shabuddin Khan R/oVill. KheriaPatikara PS Jasrana, Distt. Firojabad, (UP) Age 22 Yrs

3.RadheyShyamS/o PujariLal R/o Vill. ShekhuPur, PS Civil Lines Distt.Baduan (UP) Age 32 Yrs

4.Dinesh Kumar S/o Chhitar Singh R/o Mohalla Badaria, Dr. Satya Prakash Gupta Wali Gali, Soron Distt. Kashi Ram Nagar (UP) Age 27 Yrs

5.Rahul Gupta S/o Raj Kumar Gupta R/o RZ-T-31, Gali No. 3, Main Sagar Pur, Delhi, Age 19 Yrs.

INCIDENT AND OPERATION

On 10.09.10, a boy named Yash aged 14 years, student of 8th class of Navjeevan AcademyPublic School, Sec-4, Dwarka, Delhi did not return from school. On 11.09.10 a case for kidnapping was registered at PS Dabri vide FIR No. 300/10 u/s 363 IPC. On 18.09.10 the father of the kidnapped boy received a ransom call for Rs. 1 Crore to secure the release of his son. Subsequently, the family members of the victim received ransom calls from different places of western UP i.e. Kashi Ram Nagar, Badaun, Bareilly & Pilibhit.

Meanwhile, another boy namely NikeshKumar aged 17 yrs, student of B.Tech (First Yr) also went missing from the same locality. Consequently a case of kidnapping was registered vide case FIR No. 256/10 u/s 363 IPC at PS Vikas Puri, Delhi. On 03/10/10 father of victim NikeshKumar also received ransom call for Rs 50 Lacs. Since both the victims were resident of the same area, both the cases were transferred to the Crime Branch. A dedicated team led by Inspector K. P. Singh and consisting of SIs P. C. Yadav, Sukhbir Malik, Rajinder Singh, Narender Singh, ASI Ravinder Singh, HCs Ragender Singh, Kuldip, Ombir Tyagi, Bachchu Singh, Mahak Singh, Narendra Godara, Vikal Singh, Rohtash, Devender and Naresh under the overall supervision of Sh. Udai Vir Singh Rathi, ACP/SOS, Crime Branch was formed to investigate the cases. Several smaller teams were constituted and were sent to different places in western UP to collect intelligence about active gangs of kidnappers of western UP.

Meanwhile, father of Nikesh struck a deal with the kidnappers and agreed to pay Rs 2.5 lacs for the release of his son. On 09/10/10, he paid Rs 2.5 lacs to the kidnappers at Bareilly Railway Station. However his son was not released by the kidnappers.

On the other hand father of Yash was insisting that the kidnappers should provide some evidence that his son was safe. But the kidnappers were not giving any satisfactory reply to his queries casting a doubt that all was not well with Yash.

During the investigation of the case, SI P.C.Yadav received information that notorious kidnapper HariSingh of Badaun and his associates could be involved in these kidnappings. Sources were deployed and on 24/10/2010, specific information was received that HariSingh and his associates would assemble near Anand Vihar Bus Terminal to plan another kidnapping of a child from Delhi.

On this information, a trap was laid near Anand Vihar Bus terminal and all the five accused persons were apprehended. Interrogation of accused persons revealed that accused Dinesh Kumar and Usman @ Bunty and one Babloo r/o Etah were working in Delhi and they were residing in the Sagarpur are of west Delhi. They made a plan to kidnap a boy from Delhi for ransom. For this purpose, they roped in RahulGupta r/o SagarPur, Delhi aged 19 Yrs. Dinesh Kumar was in contact with one HariSingh r/o Badaun, UP who is notorious for his criminal activities. HariSingh is previously involved in two cases of kidnapping and one case of murder. RahulGupta told them that he could bring a victim known to him to UP but he would have to be killed otherwise all of them would be arrested.

Accused RahulGupta is an ex-student of NavjivanAcademy were Yash was studying. Both of them used to go to school by the same school bus and they became friendly with each other. On 10/09/10, RahulGupta lured Yash and took him to Kasganj. At Kasganj, Dinesh, Babloo and Usman @ Bunty were waiting for them. From Kasganj the boy was taken to a jungle near Pilibhit where HariSingh was waiting for them. They killed the boy on the same day by strangulating him. The dead body was disposed of in the jungle. After killing the boy, HariSingh began to make ransom calls to his father. The deal could not mature as the father of the kidnapped boy did not agree to pay the ransom with out speaking to his son. Therefore at the instance of the accused persons, on 30/09/10, RahulGupta lured another friend of his namely NikeshKumar to accompany him to KasgangUP. As Nikesh was a good friend of RahulGupta and they had studied in the same class from 6th standard to 10th standard, Nikesh readily agreed to accompany Rahul to Kasgang, UP. Dinesh, Babloo and Usman were waiting for them at Kasganj. From Kasgang they went to ManpurNagaria. At ManpurNagaria, HariSingh and RadheyShyam also met them. HariSingh took them to a nearby village namely Ram Chand Ka Nagla to the house of his relatives. They stayed there for the evening.

HariSingh began to make ransom calls to the father of NikeshKumar and they made NikeshKumar talk to his father on the phone. They also made NikeshKumar talk to the parents of Yash just to make them believe that Yash was safe and sound though he had already been killed. Soon after this call, they strangulated NikeshKumar and buried his dead body in a sugarcane field.

Even after this, HariSingh and his associates kept on demanding ransom from the fathers of Yash and Nikesh. On 09/10/10, father of Nikesh agreed to come to Bareilly Railway Station to pay ransom amount and he paid Rs 2.5 lacs as ransom without informing police to secure the release of his son but NikeshKumar was already dead by that time. Dead body of NikeshKumar has been recovered at the instance of accused persons from sugarcane field near ManpurNagaria.

Interrogation of accused persons revealed that RahulGupta had chosen one more boy as his next target whose parents are stated to be teachers. This fact is being verified. Efforts are being made to recover the dead boy of the other victim namely YashKumar.

Accused persons are in police custody with the team which is camping in different parts of UP. Further investigation is continuing.
