"(Santigold) has remained at the forefront of pop innovation" – NPR

“Ferociously joyous” - Stereogum

In advance of the release of her third album 99¢ this Friday, February 26, Santigold has revealed an innovative new video for “Can’t Get Enough Of Myself (feat. B.C.)” thatuses the camera of the viewer's computer or mobile device to incorporate them into the video in real time. This is the first time the technology has been used in a music video. The video was directed by Santigold and Sam Fleischner and conceptualized and digitally developed by Yung Jake and Vince Mckelvie, with mobile app development by Bryan Yee. It plays on pop culture’s fascination with viewing and manipulating one’s own image. The video should be viewedon the webusing Chrome as the browser and is available for mobilehandheld devices via the “SANTIGOLD” app available in both the Apple/Android app stores. The video is premiering onMashable, experience it hereand at Santigold.com/Webcam

Last week, Santigold (pronounced Sahn-Tee-Gold; Santi like “Monty”, not Santy like “Panty”) partnered with NPR First Listen offering fans a chance to stream the album in full ahead of the February 26th release. 99¢ explores the commercial nature of our world and the ways in which we package ourselves and our lives for consumption. The use of playful satire, social critique, and self-examination to explore these themes is reflected in the album’s cover art, collaboration with photographer Haruhiko Kawaguchi. Stream the full album via NPR here.

Santigold and Tumblr IRL are hosting a special record release event at Jack’s 99¢ Store (110 W. 32nd St.) in New York City this Friday, February 26th as part of Tumblr’s IRL ongoing series. The free event will feature a DJ set, art installation, and more surprises. Santigold’sTumblr has been functioning as a visual extension of the album’s themes of hyper-consumption and narcissism with exclusive videos being added continually. The series of pop up windows in the site’s design echo the experience of navigating through advertisements when searching online. The event will bring the world of 99¢ and Santigold’sTumblr to life! Follow IRLIRL.tumblr.com for entry details.

Santigold recently announced a North American spring tour, the “We Buy Gold Tour”. Renown for her monumental live shows, Santigold is taking it all to the next level in the brand new stage production. Tickets available here:

Following her last album, Master of My Make Believe, Santigold wanted to explore new corners of her sound and different ways to convey her vision and social commentary. She worked with new collaborators Patrik Berger, RostamBatmanglij, Hit-Boy, HazeBanga, Justin Raisen, Zeds Dead, ILOVEMAKONNEN, and Sam Dew and longtime cohorts John Hill, Dave Sitek, and Doc McKinney. The result is the bright and big sound of 99¢ that takes the genre-defying fearlessness Santigold has become known for to new places.
