General Info:

Camps are held at the Extension Office on Penn Avenue, with the exception of Farm Safety Day Camp.

Youth are expected to wear their nametags and wristbands each day.

Youth need to bring a lunch each day, unless otherwise noted in the camp description. Snacks will be provided.

Registration fees must accompany your registration form in order to hold your spot for camp.

Reimbursements are possible if you call to cancel at least 24 hours before camp begins.

Leadership Challenge

May 31st-June 1st

This camp is required for all camp counselors and is highly recommended for any senior members enrolled in a leadership project. Learn how to fine-tune your leadership skills, which include communication, teambuilding, and conflict resolution. This camp is for youth ages 13 and up. Lunches are provided both days. Cost is $10.00.

Hooked on Fishing

June 6-8, 8AM-3PM

Learn basic angling skills, such as how to cast, how to tie knots, how to make lures, and how to bait a hook. Visit several different spots to fish and also learn about water conservation and ethical angling. Bring your lunch each day, and wear sunscreen! This camp is for youth ages 8-12, and is limited to 30 youth. Cost is $30.00

Farm Safety Day Camp

June 14th, 8AM-3PM

This year’s theme is: Home Alone. Learn about electrical safety, fire safety, how to use a fire extinguisher, bicycle safety, ATV safety, and hazardous weather safety. This camp is for youth ages 8-13. Younger youth may attend if accompanied by a parent. Limited to 100; cost is $5.00 youth, and includes lunch, a T-shirt, and goody bag.

Character Day Camp

July 18-19, 8AM-12PM

Learn how to be a person of character! Teens will teach character qualities through demonstrations, crafts, skits, games, and songs. This camp is for youth ages 5-10, and is limited to 50 youth. Cost is $15.00

Money Wise Camp

July 11-13, 8AM-3PM

Learn how to manage your money so you can buy what you want the smart way! During this camp, you will take a personality test, learn how to open a bank account, write checks, prepare a budget, how to comparison shop, and learn about credit and savings. This camp is for youth ages 12-14, and is limited to 30 youth. We will have lunch at Pizza Hut on Wednesday, but bring a lunch Tuesday and Thursday. Cost is $30.00.

Livestock Camp

July 19-20, 8AM-3PM

Tour local farms to learn about Jackson County livestock! This camp will emphasize dairy, beef, horse, goat, and hog production, and is targeted towards 11-18 year old youth. Bring a lunch each day, and remember to wear comfortable clothes and sunscreen. Camp is limited to the first 22 who register. Cost is $20.00.
