Programs

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Case managers are responsible for managing the caseload of the participants within various Alternative Sentencing Programs. Set up case plans and ensure participant compliance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:*

  • Identifies and links drug court participants to local resources regarding follow-up services in the areas of; counseling, treatment, employment, education, vocational training, pregnancy services, mental health or other services needed for participants to successfully complete requirements of treatment plans.
  • Gathers and maintains statistical data regarding participants.
  • Provides input and updates to the Director of Alternative Sentencing Programs regarding the development of goals, objectives, and strategies for the participants.
  • Participates in hearings and or open or closed panels as required and/or as requested by the Director of Alternative Sentencing Programs.
  • Provides input and assists in developing appropriate program brochures, handbooks, clinical paperwork, literature, videos or press releases as approved by the Director of Alternative Sentencing Programs.
  • May be required to speak at public events, professional meetings, schools, trainings or other forums regarding Alternative Sentencing Program activities.
  • May be required to serve on committees or task forces as assigned by the Director of Alternative Sentencing Programs.
  • May supervise the collection of urine specimens and performs urinalysis testing on participants.
  • Reviews, submits, and charts documentation on all participants to include but not limited to; daily observation reports, incident reports, violations, charts, records and submits them to the proper authority as needed.
  • Maintains payment records and participant fee schedule payments.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (continued):*

  • Follows all federal, state, and local laws; follows all county and department policies and procedures regarding assigned duties.
  • Performs collateral duties as assigned and/or directed; maintains files, completes paperwork; files records.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promotes and maintains positive community relations whenever possible.
  • Keeps abreast of changes in the field through peer association, continuing education, research and

review.

  • Works to maintain open lines of communication and a positive working relationship with others.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of all program information, and ensures such information is not released without proper authorization.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • Position requires minimum of Associates Degree or combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in related field.
  • Working knowledge of modern office procedures, practices, and equipment including the use of computers for word processing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to plan and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of criminal codes and NH statutes.
  • Knowledge of County personnel policies
  • Must possess skills in training and instruction.
  • Ability to work individually and as a team member.
  • Ability to maintain effective listening, observation and communication skills.
  • Must be able to communicate with difficult people and stressful situations.
  • Ability to market programs and ideas; to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; to establish positive public relations; and ability to interact with a wide variety of people.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

No supervision of other employees.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Potential for exposure to infectious disease, blood borne pathogens, and mental fatigue.

Physical demands generally involve standing, walking, sitting, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.

Requires travel to offsite locations.
