Notice of Special Election

NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION

TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF PHOENIX UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 210OF MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA:

A special election will be held in Phoenix Union High School District No. 210 of Maricopa County, Arizona, on November 5, 2013, at the following polling places:

The polls will open at 6:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m. The purpose of the election is to permit the qualified electors of the District to vote on authorizing the District to adopt a General Maintenance and Operation Budget which includes an amount that that exceeds the revenue control limit specified by statute by 15% for the 2014-2015 fiscal year and for six subsequent years (subject to certain reductions provided by statute in years six and seven). With voter approval to continue and increase the override, it is estimated that the total amount of the override for fiscal year 2014-15 will be $20,791,963 and the estimated tax rate for the full amount will be $0.50 per $100 of assessed valuation used for secondary property tax purposes. If the override is not approved, the existing 10% override will be reduced by one-third in each of the fiscal years 2015-16 and 2016-17. Because the existing override is not scheduled to reduce by one-third until fiscal year 2015-16, the proposed override budget will exceed the 2014-15 alternate budget by 5% of the revenue control limit or $6,930,654 and the District’s secondary tax rate required to fund this amount is estimated to be $0.17.

A LOS ELECTORES CALIFICADOS DEL DISTRITO ESCOLAR DE ENSEÑANZA SECUNDARIA NÚMERO 210 DE PHOENIX UNION DEL CONDADO DE MARICOPA, ARIZONA:

Se celebrará una elección especial el 5 de noviembre de 2013 en el Distrito Escolar de Enseñanza Secundaria Número 210 de Phoenix Union del Condado de Maricopa, Arizona, en los centros de votación siguientes:

Se abrirán los centros de votación a las 6:00 de la mañana y se cerrarán a las 7:00 de la noche. El propósito de la elección es permitirles a los electores calificados del Distrito votar por autorizar al Distrito a adoptar un Presupuesto General de Mantenimiento y Manejo que incluye una cantidad que exceda el límite de control de ingresos especificado por estatuto por 15% para el año económico 2014-2015 y para seis años subsiguientes (sujeta a ciertas reducciones proveídas por estatuto en los años 6 y 7). Con la aprobación electoral para continuar y aumentar el sobrepaso, se estima que la cantidad total del sobrepaso para el año económico 2014-2015 será $20,791,963 y se estima que la tasa de impuestos para la cantidad total será $0.50 por cien dólares de valor tasado usado para propósitos de los impuestos secundarios sobre la propiedad. Si el sobrepaso no es aprobado, el sobrepaso existente de 10% será reducido por un tercio en cada uno de los años económicos 2015-2016 y 2016-17.
