Irish Design 2015 Has Officially Announced the Doyle Collection As Accommodation Partner

Irish Design 2015 has officially announced The Doyle Collection as Accommodation Partner of the year long programme for Irish Design 2015 (ID2015), a government-backed initiative exploring, promoting and celebrating Irish design throughout Ireland and internationally.

Through the partnership, The Doyle Collection will be supporting the ID2015 programme in their hotel locations in Ireland and internationally as well as providing an exhibition venue and gallery space in Dublin for the year-long schedule of events.

Commenting on the announcement, Karen Hennessy, Chief Executive of the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland and a Director of ID2015 said: “As an Irish, independent and family-owned group of international luxury hotels, The Doyle Collection is world renowned for their warm welcome, stylish design and great locations so we are delighted to have them as our Accommodation Partner for ID2015. The announcement was made at the opening of PORTFOLIO @ Solomon, a dedicated design & craft gallery to coincide with the ID2015 programme. The new 60m2 gallery space, which will be run by Solomon Fine Art, in conjunction with the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland (DCCoI), Irish Design 2015 (ID2015) and The Doyle Collection, is located at the main entrance to The Westbury Hotel and Westbury Mall on Balfe Street, just a few steps from Solomon Fine Art’s existing gallery.

A twelve month programme of exhibitions in the new PORTFOLIO @ Solomon gallery will showcase work from the Design & Craft Council of Ireland’s PORTFOLIO programme, providing visitors and collectors with a unique opportunity to acquire one-off or limited editionpieces from internationally collected and emerging practitioners working to the highest standards of design quality and technical skill. The inaugural exhibition at PORTFOLIO @ Solomonfocuses on CERAMICS, presenting over eighty innovative artworks by twenty different makers, including Jack Doherty, Andrew Ludick, Mandy Parslow, Alison Kay and Nuala O’Donovan. Spanningacross the two adjacent Solomon gallery venues, the exhibition will run until 14th March 2015.
