Project Idea #1:

Griddy Games is a game board. The game board will feature a display panel consisting of LEDs and buttons organized into a square grid. One or two users will be able to play a variety of different games on the board, possibly including (but not limited to) Othello/Reversi, Lights Out, and Checkers. Games that require bricks, chips, or other playing pieces will use RGB LEDs to distinguish the grids that contain pieces and display different pieces through the use of different colors. The user will interact with the board by pressing buttons on the grid. In games that require pieces to move across the board the user will press a button in the grid to select the piece to be moved and then press a button to select the position the piece will be moved to. The display will also have the feature of highlighting possible moves for the selected piece. The estimated cost for the production of the board is $250. The motivation for the production of this game board is entertainment. The production of the game board will be able to be divided up according to Table 1 if Jared McNealis is well enough to attend school this semester, although since no team member is strong in any particular field, all team members will be expected to contribute to all aspects of the design.
