PROFILE OF AIM MISSIONARY

Evidences of the following characteristics will be seen in the member on joining the mission and will be constantly nurtured and developed through their time with AIM

1. Godly living

  • Grows in godliness and spiritual vitality
  • Studies the Bible consistently and fruitfully
  • Develops a life of prayer which isintegral to life
  • Plants “hedges” which promote moral purity
  • Shows the Lord Jesus by evident godliness
  • Lives exemplarily and ethically, without reproach
  • Exemplifies the attitude of a servant
  1. Interpersonal Relationships
  • Encourages, listensto, helps and appreciates others
  • Willing to look out for others’ interests as well as own
  • Forgives and asks forgiveness
  • Manages conflict well
  • Shows flexibilityand willingness to try new ways
  • Works well in a team setting
  • Respects and values the roles of leadership
  • Relates well with others, including those of the opposite gender, leaders and employees.
  • Intentionally cultivates relationships with neighbors, empathizing with them

  • Committed to being a life-long learner
  • Appreciates and respects other cultures
  • Lives appropriate cultural roles and relationships in host country
  • Searches for and uses cross-cultural bridges
  • Distinguishes what is culturally and biblically acceptable from what is not

  • Embraces the priorityof language learning and consistently seeks toimprove language skills.
  • Able to work well independently within a loose structure.
  • Understands different cultural settings of ministry, including the immediate localcontext

  • Values and respects the national church in an appropriate biblical and cultural manner

  • Establishes effective margins with appropriate time for family, friends, rest and renewal
