The following is a list of expectations we will meet together.

Be in your seat and ready to work when the bell rings.

Second Quarter:

Polygons

Linear – Parallel and Perpendicular

Quadratic – Linear Systems

Linear – Distance and Midpoint

Circles

Linear – Applications/Informal Proofs

Transformational Geometry

Third Quarter:

Triangles - Similar

Circles

Constructions and Locus

Fourth Quarter:

Informal and Formal Proofs

Geometry Relationships – Solids, Lines, Planes

Quizzes will be given Wednesdays and/or Fridays to review what we have learned.

Quizzes/Tests will cover material from the entire year.

The following is the grading procedure:

1.  All homework will be collected daily and graded

no late assignments will be accepted.

2.  Weekly Spiral Review assignments will be given out on Mondays and due each Friday.

3.  Class Assignments and/or Projects are to be done in class.

4.  Be present for all Exams, make-ups will only be available after school the day you return to class. Failure to make up an exam will result in a zero.

Basic Classroom Guidelines

1.  Be in your assigned seat when the bell rings.

2.  When the bell has rung be ready to start class, all materials (notebook, calculator, and pencil) should be on your desk ready to start.

3.  NO hall passes will be issued during class time.

4.  Remain seated unless you have permission to get up.

5.  Cell phones and ipods will be confiscated if seen.

6.  No food/drinks in class. (Water Bottles ONLY)

Failure to follow these basic rules will result in a student-teacher.

Some Basic Hints for Success in Class

1.  Take good notes of some of the examples presented.

2.  Check the website daily for assignments and class notes

3.  Do your homework (It counts towards your final grade).

4.  Do NOT be afraid to ask questions.

5.  Participate in group discussions.

6.  Come to see us for extra help if you are unsure or have a problem with a topic covered in class. (Extra Help is Tuesdays and Thursdays in Rm. 115)

Supplies Recommended for Class

1.  Large 3-ring binder with notebook paper (no spirals or composition books please)

2.  Graph paper

3.  Straight edge or ruler

4.  Colored pencils, pens and or highlighters

5.  Compass

6.  Laptop and Charger

7.  A calculator is required for this class and for all High School Math Classes. The Math Dept. recommends the TI(Texas Instruments) 83, 83plus, 84, or 84 plus graphing calculator.
