·  Tickets ($5 adults, $3 children) are still available for Tuesday’s Winter Concert; curtain goes up at 7 p.m. House Lofrano 7th grader, Bonnie Feldberg’s Bat Mitzvah project is to help raise funds for a school in Brazil. Accordingly, she will be operating a Bake Sale; please frequent her establishment in the lobby.

·  The iPads are here - Part II. Thanks to an MFEE/Montclair Schools Rock! Magnet Enhancement Grant, Glenfield’s latest batch of twenty 16G iPads has arrived. At the same time, Glenfield has been awarded a $500 MFEE Grant for Educational Excellence to purchase assorted educational apps (we have been using the scaled-down free versions thus far) for the iPads.

·  Thank you to Meg Siesfeld for organizing volunteers for the Scholastic Book Fair and to all (Jim Johnson, Rodika Eccles, Colleen Connell, Deb Georgiou, Kate Epstein, Claudia Waters, Betsy Harris, Kuae Mattox, Nancy O’Toole, Lily Williams, Naomi Kaplan, Cyd Caillairec, Sarah Vogel, Tia Valentine and Linda Crane) who volunteered this week. The event was a smashing success.

·  On behalf of the staff, a giant thank you to all parents who participated in the Holiday Wish Lists.

·  Reminder, Glenfield students will be dismissed early (12:38) on Thursday, December 23rd and the Montclair Public Schools will be closed from 12/24-12/31. Schools will reopen on Monday, January 3, 2011.

·  From the desk of Christina Jordan, Student Council President: Recently, the Glenfield Student Council asked Montclair’s Human Needs Food Pantry what was on their wish list for the holiday season. The answer was linens, towels, packaged socks and underwear for both children and adults. Please help them fulfill their wish list by donating these items. They can be dropped off in the main office or in Ms. Blank’s room (Room 303).

Kids Corner: Hats off to the Pink Robots! They placed 15th out of 48 teams at the State Robotics Tournament on Saturday. Team members are Jocelyn Rosenthal, Danique Van Winden, Mary Traylor, Elena Gottesman, Nina Alvarez-Silverman, Claire Schmidt, Melissa Rosenthal, Hallie Meisler, Cate Heisler and Juliet Traylor.
