Hello XXXX Representative,

On behalf of all at the ISA SAIT club, we would like to invite you to the annual Instrumentation Student Games. This event will run from March 12th to March 14th 2015. The Instrumentation Games hosts competitions among IIET students from across Canada and the United States. It is an excellent opportunity for instrumentation students to collaborate, network with industry professionals, and explore situations that are not typically simulated in the lab environment at school.

Each school that we invited sends their top four 2nd year students along with one instructor to SAIT Polytechnic in Calgary Alberta. Here they will be housed for three evenings at the EconoLodge Inn. Food will be provided for the participants over the course of the three days they are here, along with public transit passes. We will also be sure to provide parking passes to you so that you can park conveniently close to campus while observing and participating in the games. Food is also included for any representatives you send.

We would also like to inform all participants that we are also doing a photo contest this year. Details are still being ironed out, but please be sure to bring along your cameras and smartphones to enter in and win prizes at the Awards Banquet. Participation in this contest will also help us go a long way in preserving the moments we shared and help in making future events all the more successful!

Please find in this invitation letter the basic schedule. The schedule is subject to change. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at:

2014 ISA Student Games Photo Contest

1)  What are we looking for: During the ISA Games that will be going on in March 2015, we want a string of memories of the achievements that have occurred within the time of the event. We will be using applications for our ISA_SAIT website/application, promotion for future games or other ISA-SAIT Events, and the yearbook. We are working to have the SAIT multimedia program making a video which may include photograph applications.

Please note that all subject matter has to be school appropriate (i.e. No nudity, alcohol, drugs, etc).

i)  What is the photo subject? We will be having a few categories of photography this year so that we can get a wide range of styles and allow more people to participate.

(1)  Selfie of the Games: Are you participating in the games and have a smartphone or similar small camera? Well take a selfie that is both creative, fun, and games oriented and send it in. That simple.

(2)  Free Style: This is more of an anything-goes category that catches a fun moment at any point in the ISA Games. Use a high-caliber camera or your smartphone: just give us all a memorable moment!

(3)  Professional Style: Do you have a higher class camera and have an eye/talent for capturing a moment? We have a category for those who want to capture an instrumentation scene that is aspiring/inspiring: **groups of people as a subject would be preferred.

ii)  Photoshop / altercation: We would prefer entries to have light to no altercation done. If tweaking the picture a bit allows us to see the subject better, then it is understandable.

iii)  Sizing: There is no pixel limit

iv)  Image format: Standard Image Formats (examples to be given later)

v)  Amount of entries:

(1)  Selfies: ten per person *Note: we will be having this done on Facebook, where the likes and shares determine the score. 1 like = 1 point, 1 share = 2 points. All are welcome to participate in this event.

(2)  Free Style: three per person

(3)  Professional Style: three per person

2)  Who can enter: All participating Faculty and Students for the Student Games.

3)  Start Time: The Social Mixer: March 12, 2015 (Subject to Change)

4)  Date Due: 6 hours before the banquet. (Subject to Change)

5)  Judges: We are intent on inviting from the multimedia program in both SAIT and ACAD to participate in the judging of the Free Style and Professional Style categories.
