2 SHORT ESSAYS and 1 LESSON PLAN:
Please prepare a 150 – 250 word response per question.
1). Why are you interested in volunteering with SwimTayka? (Please include how your interest in working with the organization relates to your past experiences and future goals.)
2) The following questions are case study questions regarding situations that volunteers and employees have regularly confronted while living and working in the SwimTayka community. Please respond to both questions and describe what you would do in each situation.
a) One of your students verbally or physically attacks another student. This interaction happens in front of other students. How do you address the situation, both with the class and the students directly involved?
b) At times during the lessons children who have not already enrolled in the program begin to arrive unannounced and ask to participate in the swimming lessons and environmental education activities. What do you do?
3) SwimTayka advocates child-centred learning that is fun and engaging but also emphasizes safety and basic skills. Please include a lesson plan for a 50-minute swim class or environmental education class.
TWO LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION *
