Games Information Sheet – 2018

PC Mounted Games provides a team competition for all Branches and Centres encouraging determination and all-round riding ability, with careful and systematic training of their ponies. If you like Gymkhana Games and want to have lots of fun, then you and your pony will love Pony Club Mounted Games where you and your team will get to play lots of fun and imaginative games.

Training will start indoors at Blackdyke EC on Friday eveningsin their small arena (dates will be shown on main website shortly) with Juniors and Lead Rein/assisted in our first session and Seniors following on. When the weather improves we will look to move outside utilising an outdoor Arena and then onto grass as soon as the ground allowsto prepare for our Area competition 28th April 2018 at Kildale,Cleveland.

These sessions have proved very popular over the last few years as Games is a lot of fun and builds on confidence in a team environment. Some of our members are happy to come along to the sessions to have fun and some would like to be chosen for the Area competition in April, but all are welcome.

As training progresses our Area trainers will establish if you would like to be considered for Area competition and committed to more intense training. The Area hopefuls will then attend a few Friendly competitions to prepare for the Area competition. If the Area team does well at the Area competition they can go on to qualify for the Zones Games competition 28th July in Perth. From Zones they can also qualify for the Championships at Cholmondeley Castle in Cheshire in August - so you can see it is a big commitment.

To qualify for the Area Competition Juniors should be under 11, Seniors under 15 on the 1st January 2018. Unfortunately, there is no Lead rein competition at Area.More information and guidelines to can be found on the pcuk.org website and additional guidance will be given from our Trainers at weekly sessions.

If you would like any further information or,would like to come along to see what it is all about, please register your interest to Stephanie Armstrong 07724 227767 or by Friday, 12th January.
