Sexual Health Webinar Planning

2016 Webinars

·  Friendships & Dating Program (October)

o  One attendee from the webinar indicated they felt that the webinar was a promotional advertisement. The SIG considered this comment and concluded that it is best to get as much information as possible out to the network on information related to different curricula and it is ok to highlight different curricula available.

2017 Webinars

·  AUCD has approved four webinars for 2017 surrounding the mechanics of sex

o  All webinars will have guest speakers on different topics and self-advocates will have the opportunity to ask questions

o  The SIG will collect questions from self-advocates. Michelle, Becca, Katie, and Julie have volunteered to help collect these through their contacts.

o  The SIG will need to decide how they will receive input from self-advocates on the format of the webinars and the topics areas. The SIG will need to identify themes for potential webinar topics.

§  Themes: Consent, LGBTQQI (Potential speakers: Shelly Barth (WY) or Rick Nelson (AK Governor’s Council), mechanics of sex (Potential speaker: Katherine McLaughlin, and relationships (potentially discussing issues related to individuals with disabilities dating those without disabilities).

§  The SIG will encourage self-advocates to drive webinar topics but will provide ideas when surveying self-advocates.

§  The SIG will strive to identify speakers who embody the intersectionality of gender, race, ethnicity, LGBTQQI, and disability

Survey for UCEDDs work on Sexual Health

·  Create survey to send to UCEDDs to understand what each Center is working on related to sexual health (Michelle/Julie/Rebekah/Katie)
