2010-2011 MAAA Scholarship Application – Incoming Freshmen

The Mexican American Alumni Association (MAAA) Scholarship awards annual scholarships to students pursuing an undergraduate degree at Loyola Marymount University (LMU) who demonstrate a strong commitment to the Latino community. Conditions upon which a student can receive this scholarship include acceptance to the university, commitment to attend and full-time enrollment at LMU (undergraduate minimum 12 units). This is a four year renewable scholarship opportunity for student who continues to maintain the minimum guidelines set forth by the terms of the scholarship.

LMU MAAA Application Process:

Application must be typed (no handwritten documents will be accepted). All materials submitted will not be returned. Please retain a copy for your files. The intent of this program is to compliment the LMU financial aid package. Applications will be accepted by the following means:

LMU MAAA Scholarship Selection Criteria:

To be considered for an LMU MAAA Scholarship, the individual must fulfill the following criteria:

1.  Applicant has submitted a completed LMU MAAA Scholarship Application with the requested essay by the designated deadline. Completeness of the information and quality of the essay will be taken into consideration for final awarding of scholarships.

2.  Applicant has been accepted to LMU and will be registering with a minimum of 12 units for Fall 2010. All applicants interested in LMU admission are encouraged to apply.

3.  Applicant has applied for financial aid by the deadline, for additional information see http://financialaid.lmu.edu.

4.  Applicant has demonstrated financial need as determined by the LMU Financial Aid Office.

5.  Applicant is actively involved in community service as detailed in their application and/or essay.
