Flu Vaccines
Due to a limit on supplies of the flu vaccine most suitable for patients aged 65 and over we are currently not able to give this vaccine at present. We are expecting further supplies to be delivered in mid November and will then start to book further clinics
In the meantime we do have stocks of the vaccines for patients aged under 65 and in an at risk group and children aged 2 and 3 years.
Shingles vaccination
A reminder that the shingles vaccine is available to patients as they reach their 70th birthday and to other patients aged 71 to 75 years and some 76 year olds . Patients aged 78 and 79 years are also eligible until their 80th birthday. If you think you may be eligible then please contact the surgery to check and book an appointment.
Building work
It is expected that the work on phase 1 will be completed by Christmas and work on extending the waiting room and dispensary will start in the new year and is due for completion in May 2019. During the second phase of works we will use the new rooms as temporary reception, waiting area and dispensary. We will move into this area over the Christmas and New Year period. We would ask for your understanding while we move and also during the time we will be working with the temporary layout. Relocating all the stock and equipment currently in the dispensary will take place between 27th December – January 4th and will have some impact on the availability of medications, we would therefore ask that patients avoid ordering over this period and to ensure all medication requested is collected promptly.
New Telephone system
In preparation for the new extension to the building we have had a new telephone system installed and the options have changed slightly. Please listen to the options when you call the surgery. All calls are now recorded for training and quality purposes. The new system brings a number of features that will allow us to process calls and monitor the demand on our telephone lines and we welcome your feedback on the changes.

Please ensure that you have sufficient medication to cover this time and that you order in good time as deliveries to the surgery will also be disrupted. If you expect to run low on medication over the festive period then the dispensary staff will be happy for you to request your medication earlier in the month.
Veterans
The Practice has been accredited as an Armed Forces Veteran Friendly practice under a joint Royal College of General Practitioners and NHS England project. Veterans include anyone who has served for at least one day in the Armed Forces (Regular or Reserve).
