Events Volunteer

Volunteer role purpose / We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us run various events throughout the year, starting with the Stonewall Equality Dinner. This is Stonewall’s flagship fundraising event.
The evening is filled with entertainment and engaging speeches. On the night there is an exclusive live auction, a silent auction and a luxury raffle as our main ways to fundraise.
We are looking for confident, enthusiastic people, to assist with all aspects of the event on the night, with a focus on selling raffle tickets and promoting the silent auction.
Where: / Training: Stonewall Office, Clerkenwell, London
Event: Sheraton Grand Park Lane
When: / Training: Thursday 1 Mar 2018 6pm-8pm
Event: Friday 16 March 2018 5.30pm – 11pm
Suggested commitment: / The two evenings – the training evening, and the night of the event.
Whilst the training evening is not compulsory it will equip you with the skills to volunteer at future Stonewall events and provides a chance to meet other volunteers and Stonewall staff.
Suggested activities: / All external volunteers will be working in pairs with a member of Stonewall staff. The role will primarily involve assisting with the Dinner on the night. Tasks include:
·  Raffle ticket selling
·  Silent auction promotion
·  Live auction spotting and stewarding
·  Assisting with table settings
·  Ushering our guests
·  Registration
Experience & skills / ·  Good communication skills
·  Friendly and confident talking to a range of people
·  Committed to the value and aims of Stonewall
·  Background in sales is desirable
Supervision and training / This role will be supervised by the Events Assistant.
Stonewall will provide you with relevant training, in the form of a training evening, and full support on the night.
Reimbursement of expenses / Stonewall will cover reasonable travel expenses and provide a light dinner on both evenings.
