Associate Director of Advancement & Special Events
Community School of Naples, Florida; an independent, PK-12, co-educational, college preparatory school, seeks a motivated and energetic Associate Director of Advancement & Special Events with the background and experience to plan and implement various fund raising efforts and special eventsfor our school and the community it serves. Interviews are expected to begin in early spring, 2018and the start date is expected to be in July 2018.
Job Description and Requirements
Reporting directly to the Director of Advancement, the Associate Director of Advancement & Special Events will assist the Director in relationship development and maintenance in all fund raising efforts. Discretion and confidentiality are essential attributes of the successful candidate.
This position is responsible for development, planning, implementation, and evaluation ofvariousfundraising events to benefit CSN’s Financial Aid Program (Angel Fund), the Annual Fund, Capital Campaigns, Athletic Fund, Fund for Faculty Excellence and others. Events include, but are not limited to; Angel Ball, Seahawk Scramble, Grandparents’ Day, Parent Receptions, Dads’ Breakfast, Fall Festival, Savor the Flavor, Model Student Fashion Show and Alumni Events.This person must work in concert with the strategic goals of the Advancement Department while developing and maintaining relationships with donors, volunteers and vendors. Direct interaction with the media is required along with skills in developing various marketing tools. All aspects of producing each event is the responsibility of this person, from booking the venue, to preparing reports on the outcome of each event. Excellent communication skills are necessary to work with the Director of Admissions & Communication and the school’s Website Manager/Calendar Coordinator to plan, design and execute web pages as necessary to support the various fund raising programs and events.
The Associate Director will serve as liaison between the School (administration) and the PA (parent’s association) and work closely with volunteers; strong people management skills are a must.
The successful candidate will possess great attention to detail and demonstrate the energy and dedication to take a project from start to finish, work with many stakeholders, and follow through with all constituents.
A bachelor’s degree and 3 years of fund raising/event planning experience are required. Those with such experience in an independent school will receive higher consideration.
Compensation and Benefits
The appointment is a full-time, year round, administrative position paid on an annual salary commensurate with experience, degree attainment and other qualifications.
