Dear Parents,

Welcome to a new school year! Please review the performance checklist for the 3rdnine weeks of school. This is an overview of what your child will be learning during this nine week. If you have any questions, feel free to contact your child’s teacher. Thank you for your support. 

Language Arts:

Respond to and use rhythm, rhyme, & alliteration in poetry.

Retell stories (Beginning, Middle, End)

Phonological Awareness & Graphophonemic Knowledge & Skills

Apply Letter Sounds & Other Strategies to Read

Write to Record Ideas, Reflections & Connections

Write Personal Narrative Using the Writing Process

Use Capitalization, Punctuation in Writing

Fluency Goal: 50 wcpm

Establish purpose for reading selected

texts (to be informed, to follow directions, to be entertained)

Math:

Tell time to hour and half hour

3-D Figures

Addition and subtraction all the way up to 99

Apply properties of operations to add and subtract two or three Read & Write #s (1-120)

Compare & Order #s (1-120)

Create Sets & Place Value (1-120)

Compose and Decompose #s (1-120)

Fractions halves and fourths

Personal finance identify income as a means of obtaining goods and services, often times making choice between wants and needs

Science:

Seasons of the year

Living and non-living

Plants

Basic needs of living things

Social Studies:

Identify basic need of humans

Historicaldescribe how technology changes the ways families live

 Figures –George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Martin Luther King Jr.

1.2B identify historical figures such as Alexander Graham Bell, Thomas Edison, Garrett Morgan, and Richard Allen,
