We are currently seeking a NS5 Planned Maintenance System Specialist for our Tacoma office. This position will support the continued integration of NS5 into the daily Ocean Transportation Services (OTS) workflow and strategic planning. Responsibilities will include maintaining the planned maintenance program consistently across each class of vessel and providing a help desk style service to the user community for non-IT issues with NS5.

Major Accountabilities:

·  Update Vendor Master with new information

·  Perform NS5 compliance audits as needed

·  Research and resolve payables and vendor issues

·  Coordinate maintenance data flow from data sources outside the system to support condition based maintenance goals

·  Identify training needs and arrange for personnel to attend training sessions while monitoring training progress

o  Arrange workshops as required for particular maintenance topics. Identify and recruit and schedule the vessel personnel necessary for these workshops.

o  Host/facilitate workshops via WEBEX and support class leader Port Engineer who will lead workshops from a technical perspective.

·  Audit user groups for compliance with NS5 procedures; consistent data input and maintenance tracking including tracking of all crew maintenance hours in the system.

o  Work directly with Vessel Fleet, Superintendents, FRG, MTS, Purchasing and Marine Services to develop sustainable and efficient maintenance strategies.

o  Prepare summaries for ISM auditors

o  Report PM statistics

·  Maintain machinery lists, spare parts lists and planned maintenance program consistently across each class of vessel.

o  Make sure that vessel requirements are met in a timely fashion.

o  Ensure that class leader Port Engineer and Superintendent are kept in the decision loop.

o  Act a liaison between Purchasing and OTS to ensure that data issues are resolved with correct input from the technical personnel.

o  Develop new/revised machinery maintenance plans based on condition monitoring and other system data.

·  OTS ongoing: Identify additional tracking, reporting and documentation that can be moved into the NS5 program and assist with project design and implementation.

·  Audit user groups for compliance with NS5 procedures and consistent data input and maintenance tracking.

Required Skills and Abilities:

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering or a related field from an accredited university or college and one to two years of related marine engineering experience.

·  Proficiency in MS Office (intermediate level of Excel); ability to learn internal systems.

·  Quality focused, skilled at critically examining information for accuracy / quality; skilled at analyzing numerical and written information and data.

·  Must be flexible and able to revise plans to account for changed circumstances.

·  Promotes teamwork, works well with a diverse group of people to help prevent and resolve conflicts; must be able to multi-task and prioritize daily work and business needs.

·  Extended hours are often necessary for this position.

Preferred additional skills:

·  Minimum of one to two years of marine maintenance management system developer/user experience.

·  One to two years of Unlimited HP sailing experience (both steam and motor vessel time), one year of port engineering experience is preferred.

·  Experience with ABS NS5 and MAXIMO is highly preferred, but not required.
