Functional Cellulose Additives for the Production of Technical Ceramics

(Hall 6/ Booth 321/420)

The J. RettenmaierSöhne Group of Companies (JRS) is dedicated to the research, development and processing of high-quality organic fibers from vegetable raw materials such as cellulose, wood fibers or cereal and fruit fibers. The industrial group makes use of the many functions of these valuable natural substances. Doing justice to the ecological cycle is always a matter of course.
In line with this motto, the JRS product philosophy will continue to be based on renewable, plant-based raw materials in the future.

As an owner-managed, independent family business, JRS stands for innovation, long-term perspective, reliability and security. The worldwide orientation of JRS enables optimal raw material procurement in best quality. This is an important prerequisite for manufacturing a large number of unique products. JRS's modern production technology, which has been certified several times, stands for the highest quality, innovative functionality and a perfect price/performance ratio.

JRS produces organic cellulose and lignocellulose particles, modified for use in the ceramics industry.
Customers can expect the highest purity combined with consistent performance. Outstanding quality is ensured by certified quality control. A wide variety allows for optimal use. The different structures lead to different effects both in the production process and in the performance of the manufactured ceramic products. The tailor-made selection of the natural particles allows a controlled improvement of their application.

The products are available in different sizes and structures:

•Long fibers

•Cubic particles

•Granules

•Globules

•Cellulose gels.

During sintering, the organic particles completely burn out and leave pores. Pore volume, structure and size distribution are controlled. The advantages of a higher porosity are:

•Lightweight materials

•Controlled permeability

•Higher specific internal surface area

•Acoustic and thermal insulation

•Improved thermal shock resistance

•Increased capillary activity.
