In keeping with this mission, the Whidbey Giving Circleis pleased to announce its 2010 grant cycle. This yearthe Whidbey Giving Circlewill primarily continue to fund projects that focus on supporting projects dedicated to helping Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) youth. This could include projects in existing organizations that support LGBT youth or projects yet to be developed in organizations such as libraries, schools, communities of faith and social service groups. Some examples are support groups, plays, educational work or special events. In addition, this year we wish to extend our granting to public awareness-building outreach to the Whidbey Island community about LGBT issues and challenges in efforts to open hearts and minds about diverse life-styles. Other Information You Should Know

Whidbey Giving Circle grants are not meant to convey a commitment to ongoing funding. A grant in one year does not make it any more likely that an agency will be funded in the future.

Organizations can apply for only one Whidbey Giving Circle grant per cycle.

Organizations that are selected for funding must submit a written follow-up report at the completion of the project, but no later than 9 months from the date of the award, unless an alternate date has been arranged.
