Old Business
· Kristin & Ken Serensky, directors from Blue Ridge Relay, sent a thank you. A contribution check has not been received from this group yet.
· The Haunted Hayride went very well, but the staff was overwhelmed with the number of participants. Revenue was over $400 with 116 participants on October 6th and 165 participants on October 13th.
· The Fall Festival was a success. Many positive comments were received on the recycle units. Donna & Doug took 10 bags of plastic and 10 bags of aluminum cans to be recycled.
· The address for the Boy Scout troop that helped with the AT Trail work is still needed so that a thank you can be written.
· A check has not yet been received from the Wayne C. Henderson Festival.
· Maureen & Doug will decide at a later date on what signs to purchase for the Friends Projects.
Park Manager’s Time
No open fires allowed in National Forest. State Parks will follow the State Forest recommendations. Park concessions are doing very well at 23% ahead. First quarter revenue is $158,754 and expense is $215,050. Park projects include: completion of extension to bathroom, fixing bunkhouse, anticipation of renovation of contact station, crooked road interpretive kiosk at park entrance, water line breaks repaired, winterize when weather turns colder.
New Business
The Youth Lottery Hunt will be held November 17th and Firearms Hunt on November 19th and 20th. Rhonda and Sue might help with crock of chili for this.
Kevin Kelley will purchase a picture board for the Friends group.
