Novel Response Project – Maus I and II
For Maus I and II, your assignment is to keep an electronic reading journal on your Weebly(create a Maus page) and make contemporary connections to the text. The format is structured, but what you choose to respond to in the novel is not. The ultimate goal in the literary response and criticism is to make connections from the text to situations in the “real” world – find universal truths.
You will have two sections, one for Maus I and another for Maus II.
For each book, Maus I and Maus II
- Graphic Novel Concepts: Selecttwopanels from each chapter with particularly important drawings related to the content and provide a rationale for your selection. What is the significance of the panel in relation to what is occurring in the novel? What is the significance in the “real” world/universal truth?
