South Ogden Junior High Mascot Constitution

I. ELIGIBILITY

A. All eligibility requirements must be met prior to tryouts.

B. A potential mascot must be an eighth grader enrolled at South Ogden

Junior High at the time of tryouts.

C. Academic and Citizenship requirements must be met.

1. A grade point average of 2.5 with no “F’s” for 3rd term of the eighth grade

year.

2. A citizenship requirement of no more than 2 “N’s” or one “N” and one “U” for

3rd term of the eighth grade year.

II. TRYOUTS

A. Depending on the number of students interested in trying out for mascot, there could

be an audition with a group of faculty members to narrow down the applicants.

B.  Tryouts will be held during an assembly with the student body. Each applicant will

perform in the mascot costume during the assembly. Each applicant will be

assigned a number that the students will vote on after the assembly. The students

will not know who is wearing a particular number. Numbers will be drawn just prior

to the assembly so the applicants won’t even know their number until just before

their tryout.

C.  More than one mascot will be chosen to allow students involved in other activities to

participate. The number of mascots could vary between 2 – 4 each year depending

on how close the votes are.
