Fall 2017
Dear Eighth Grade Parent,
Please join us for an informational meeting about our student trip to Washington, D.C. (April 25-27, 2018) on Tuesday evening, September26th, beginning at 6:00 p.m. in our auditorium. Our purpose is to answer questions regarding the trip. A representative from Destinations Unlimited, our tour company, will be with us to answer your questions as well.
While the cost of the trip will vary slightly from cluster to cluster due to minor variations in itineraries, the cost will be approximately $675. Destinations Unlimited will set the precise cluster cost based on the number of students participating. (When we have that specific information and the confirmed itinerary, we will forward that information to you, together with the remainder of the payment schedule.) A limited travel protection plan is available for approximately $35, based on the cost of your cluster’s trip, which you will have the option to purchase when making your first deposit. Please understand that any student who is denied the trip because of failing three courses for the year, or because of behavioral concerns, cannot be refunded any money; however, the travel protection option maybe helpful in these cases. Additionally, on our website is a list of frequently asked questions and answers about the trip, which will provide important information prior to the meeting. You can access the page by going to
Payments will be made via credit card through Destinations Unlimited’s website. If there is a financial concern, please speak with Principal Tom Einhorn, and we will do everything possible to accommodate your financial needs. As in the past, each student will have the opportunity to earn the money necessary for the trip by participating in our upcoming Cookie Dough sale, which will run from October 6-20, 2017.
At this time we cannot commit to any parent chaperones. However, if you would like to chaperone this trip, please indicate your interest to your child’s cluster teachers.
Please complete the bottom portion of this form and return it with your child’s reservation. We thank you for your continued support. Remember, this reservation is due to your child’s homeroom teacher no later than Friday, October 6th, 2017. The cost of the trip is determined by the number of students who commit to attend per cluster so an accurate account is needed as soon as possible.
We hope to see you on the 26th!
Sincerely,
Thomas R. Einhorn
