2017 youth championship guidance rules

The England Boxing youth championship is contested in adherence to the rules governing AIBA AOB & under directives, policies & procedures issued by England Boxing.

  1. The championship is open to: boxers born between 01/01/1999 & 31/12/2000 & must have had at least 2 England Boxing bouts on entry. ALL previous combat experience MUST be declared in the boxers BCR1. Failure to declare previous combat bouts may result in the boxer being removed from the championships and disciplinary proceedings taken against the boxer and or club.
  1. Entry is open to:

Male boxers (boxed over 3x3 minute rounds)

Female boxers (boxed over 4x2 minute rounds)

  1. Boxers may enter through one association only & must be registered to an England Boxing affiliated club.
  1. The boxers BCR1 medical book must be produced at the initial weigh in & at all subsequent rounds and the boxes medical must be in date for the duration of the championship.
  1. Boxers may transfer weight categories up until the initial weigh in. The boxers weight recorded by the Supervisor at the initial weigh in will determine the category they box in. Boxers cannot change weight category after the initial weigh in.
  1. All entry forms MUST be filled in accurately & honestly. Entry forms MUST be signed by both boxer & club secretary.
  1. By allowing a boxer to enter thischampionship, the boxer’s parent or guardian is deemed to have consented to any official video recording & photography & to have allowed for his or her name, photographs & video footage to be used for publicity purposes.
  1. During the 2-hour weigh in period, boxers may check their weight as many times as they wish up to the official closure of the scales.
  1. THERE WILL BE NO WEIGHT ALLOWANCE IN THE CHAMPIONSHIPS.

10. Boxers & coaches are reminded that these championships are subject to anti-doping

regulations.RED or PARTIALLY RED gumshields are not permitted. Only approved hand wraps must be worn.

11. The scoring machine (computer) should be used in all rounds of the championship

from association finals onwards.

12. If there is no opponent for a boxer at the national final, the boxer can only be awarded

the National title if they have boxed in an earlier round.

13. The entry fee of £5.00 MUST accompany each application.
