B. STUDENT REPRESENTATIVES

1. North Montco Technical Career students competed against over 300 students

from nine technical schools in Montgomery, Bucks and Delaware counties.

The following Methacton High School seniors were recognized:

2. Methacton’s North Montco Technical Career Center HVAC senior, Steven Betz,

B. FISCAL

1. TREASURER’S REPORT (Placeholder)

It will be recommended that the Board approve the treasurer’s report

for the month of January. The treasurer’s report will be provided prior

to the regular meeting.

2. WOODLAND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PROJECT

a. Authorize the following change orders to General Construction Contract,

Penn Builders, Inc.:

·  Provide installation and removal of temporary bituminous

walkways as requested by Owner and Owners Insurance

Representative in the amount of $14,091.

·  Provide temporary toilet room enclosure at end of intermediate wing as requested by Owner in the amount of $16,037.

·  At rear building drive area, remove 95 feet of existing curb and replace with granite curb at correct elevation to accommodate new pavement elevations not shown on contract documents in the amount of $5,893.

·  Provide additional steel framing required at Area “A” Office Area not shown on contract documents in the amount of $1,818.

·  Provide additional light weight steel framing required for installation of fascia system at Area “E” Gym roof not shown on contract documents in the amount of $5,160.

·  Due to unsuitable existing material, excavate and provide suitable backfill at Area “A” Office Area in the amount of $1,791.

·  Provide vertical grab bars at all ADA toilet rooms to comply with revised code requirements in the amount of $1,174.

·  Provide double leaf door at room E105 not shown on contract documents in the amount of $1,406.

·  Install fire retardant wallboard on interior walls and ceilings of two (2) temporary corridors in the amount of $13,060.

b. Authorize the following change order to Electrical Construction Contract,

Silas Bolef Company:

·  Relocate Verizon buried duct bank to new utility pole location as determined by Verizon to be their service termination point for the school in the amount of $4,944.

c. Authorize the following change order to HVAC Construction Contract,

JBM Mechanical, Inc.:

·  Provide modifications to roof curbs at two (2) air handler locations on Area “E” Gym roof to accommodate sloped roof condition and satisfy roof warranty not shown in contract documents in the amount of $3,336.

d. Authorize the following change orders to Plumbing Construction Contract,

Integrity Mechanical Inc.:

·  Provide toilet room vent piping at Area “D” classroom restrooms not shown on contract documents in the amount of $5,568.26.

·  Provide correctly sized domestic water piping shown incorrectly sized on contract documents in the amount of $6,735.81.

C. PERSONNEL

1. EMPLOYMENT – PROFESSIONAL

a. Eileen Corrado, special education instructor at Arcola Intermediate School. Salary: $44,800 (prorated) based on Masters, Step 1. Effective February 13, 2008. This is a replacement position.

2. EMPLOYMENT – CLASSIFIED

a. Mary Vagnoni, part-time bus aide. Hourly rate of $12.29.

Effective January 28, 2008. This is a replacement position.

3. EMPLOYMENT – LONG-TERM SUBSTITUTE – PROFESSIONAL

a. Linda Ehmer, long-term substitute guidance counselor at Woodland

Elementary School. Salary: $44,500 (prorated) based on Masters/

Masters Equivalence, Step 1. Effective for the last marking period of

the 2007-08 school year.

b. Kristen DePaul, long-term substitute grade four instructor at Audubon

Elementary School. Salary: $40,500 (prorated) based on Bachelors,

Step 1. Effective January 28, 2008.

c. Terray Wood, long-term substitute science instructor at Methacton

High School. Salary: $45,500 (prorated) based on Masters +15,

Step 1. Effective February 11, 2008.

4. UNCOMPENSATED LEAVE – PROFESSIONAL

a. Heather DePiano, special education instructor at Methacton High

School. Effective for the 2008-09 school year following FMLA.

b. Jennifer Magliari, guidance counselor at Woodland Elementary School.

Effective through the end of the 2007-08 school year.

5. UNCOMPENSATED LEAVE – CLASSIFIED

a. Joseph Ciravola, bus driver. Effective February 8, 2008 through

March 7, 2008.
