Lesson 7: Called for His Purpose
· Woman’s Philosophy of Personal Happiness:
o Many women go through life looking for someone to make them happy.
o They seem to think that God’s main concern is their h______.
o Our definition of happiness and God’s definition of happiness are frequently at odds.
o While God’s design of marriage can bring great happiness and comfort, this is not His primary goal.
o God’s purpose in every aspect of life is always to g______Himself.
· God’s Purpose of Glorifying Himself:
o *Romans 11:36 – “For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.”

o 1 Timothy 6:15-16 – which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.
o 2 Timothy 4:18 – And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!
o *Hebrews 13:21 – Make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

o *Revelation 4:11 – You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power, For you created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.

· Specifically, God’s purpose in placing me in my marriage is His glory.
o We tend to think that God is only glorified when our lives are nice and tidy…
o God is not limited to being glorified only through success and obedience.

· How is He glorified through my troubles in my marriage?

· God is able to bring glory to Himself in amazing ways!

· God’s plan to glorify Himself is accomplished as He works to change me into the image of His Son.

Conclusion: The only way I’ll be satisfied is when I see that the point or end of my life is to glorify Him and enjoy Him eternally. He’s my strength and my song! …His Spirit is both patient and powerful and He’s committed Himself to completing the work in me that He’s begun. I’m celebrating His faithfulness to cause all things—even my trials—to eventuate in His glory and my good…
