Audition for the San Francisco 49ers Gold Rush Cheerleaders!

Join the world famous San Francisco 49ers Cheerleaders and have the opportunity of a lifetime. Over the past thirty years, the 49ers Cheerleaders, known as the “Gold Rush,” have established a reputation as one of the NFL’s premiere performance groups. The team has been featured on many national television shows, performed for numerous USO tours around the world, and just returned from Super Bowl XLVI. As a team member you can participate in these special events, plus cheer at each 49ers home game, work with our Junior Cheerleader program, participate in the annual swimsuit calendar photo shoot and more.

AUDITION
During the preliminary audition process, applicants will be judged on dance ability, crowd appeal, showmanship, and individual applications. For finalists, there is an interview process and a final dance audition.

REQUIREMENTS
You must be at least 18 years of age by May 1, 2013 (there is no maximum age limit). Team members must have flexible schedules for Saturday rehearsals starting in April, all 49ers home games, photo shoots for the calendar and team photo card, as well as appearances during and prior to the season. Team members must attend a mandatory 3-day mini-camp during a weekend in May. Team members must have a reliable means of transportation.
ATTIRE
A two-piece leotard (half top and briefs) with flesh colored hosiery is required. Jazz, dance shoes or athletic shoes (minimal tread and non-marking soles) are also mandatory. We strongly recommend that you wear your hair down although it does not need to be a certain length or style. You may also want to wear stage make up for the audition.
WHAT TO EXPECT
A professional choreographer will teach a short dance combination for each phase of the audition. You will be required to learn and perform the routine in a group in front of a panel of judges. At the end of the preliminary audition, a group of finalists will be selected to continue to finals. Finalists are selected based on their dance ability, showmanship, and crowd appeal. Please bring snacks, water, and/or lunch for the day.
FINALISTS
Finalists selected on April 6thmust be available for a Finals Prep Class on Sunday, April 7than Interview and the Final Dance Audition during the following week. Information regarding time and location will be given to finalists at the conclusion of preliminaries. Finalists will also be given a general rehearsal schedule and a list of the mandatory event dates at the preliminary audition so you can be aware of the commitment. Being a Gold Rush member is a part time job and we encourage cheerleaders to attend school or maintain a job.

If you wish to pre-register, applications should be received by e2k Sports by Wednesday, April 3rd. Walk up applications will also be excepted at the registration area at prelims.
