IronAid®Iron Protein Succinylate is an iron compound developed for oral iron replacement treatment. IronAid®is an iron protein complex in which iron steadily bonds to succinylated casein with a solubility behavior strictly related to pH modification. Thanks to this characteristic, IronAid®offers the advantage, over the common iron salts, to precipitate in acid gastric condition, keeping iron bonded, and to become soluble again at neutral and alkaline pH, thus allowing the iron to be absorbed in the small intestine. Therefore, IronAid®is not released in the stomach, and it is free from the common gastric side-effects caused by conventional iron salts.
Iron Deficiency Anemia…Iron is a mineral that is an essential constituent of blood and muscle, and is required for the transportation of oxygen. The primary role of iron relates to the ability of red blood cells to adequately carry oxygen. When anemia is finally detected, an unbalanced condition has already been reached. Iron deficiency develops insidiously and is often free of symptoms. Anemia symptoms include weakness, palpitations, lassitude, light-headedness, fatigue, and sometimes subtle behavioral changes.
Factors contributing to iron deficiency…
- Increased iron requirement which occurs during growth spurts of infancy and adolescence, and during pregnancy where iron requirements double.
- Inadequate iron intake due to diets low in animal proteins.
- Decreased iron absorption that occurs following gastrointestinal surgical procedures as well as during chronic diarrhea or intestinal malabsorption.
- Blood loss due to menstruation coupled with diets offering low iron levels, volunteer blood donors, and gastrointestinal bleeding in adult men and women caused by daily aspirin use.
How IronAid®can help…
IronAid®is safe and efficacious. Due to its innovative technology, IronAid®is insoluble in the stomach – important because most iron compounds tend to irritate the stomach lining. IronAid®dissolves in the intestine as ferric iron, and the active iron component is rapidly absorbed. IronAid®has a superior safety profile, allowing long-lasting treatment, as is most often required for iron deficiency anemia.
Benefits of IronAid®…- Improved absorption & efficacy
- High tolerability
- Superior safety profile allows long-lasting treatment
Recommended Dosage…
IronAid®is recommended to be taken in doses ranging from360mg-600mg once per day.
