New York, NY, April 12, 2010 - The Care BearsTM continue to win over young women’s hearts in Japan, as American Greetings Properties (AGP), the intellectual property and outbound licensing division of American Greetings Corporation (NYSE: AM), and Mindworks Entertainment today announced several exciting new licensing deals for Care Bears in Japan. Since Mindworks became AGP’s agent in the territory, they have signedmore than 20 licensees across product categories and secured several magazine promotions with CUTiE, SPOON and SEVENTEEN.
Categories and licensees for this roster of deals include Motodesign (“aqua series” computer accessories/office supplies), Runa (cell phone accessories/health and beauty aides), Santan (bath accessories/domestics), Iwaya (bags and finger puppets), Future Innovation (watches/clocks), Watanabe (retro t-shirts), Small Planet (apparel/fashion accessories), Sony Creative Products (stationery), CUBE (plush), T-Arts (capsule toys), Sega and J Dream (items for clamping machine), among others. Product will be launched at mid-high tier department stores such as PARCO, Plaza, Loft and specialty stores.
