Project Description:
The project will install interstitial monitoring equipment in facility petroleum tanks, install new vehicle fueling equipment, construct a building adjacent to the vehicle fueling area for storage of associated supplies, install a dispensing control system, and perform any needed site remediation.
Justification:
This project is needed to bring several petroleum storage tanks into regulatory compliance by either replacing tanks or adding continuous monitoring. SOUTHERN WISCONSIN CENTER (sWC) – Steam Line Replacements Pits 17-18 (12J2Y) - $564,000
Project Description:
This project will replace approximately 350 feet of direct buried steam and condensate line between Pits 17 and 18 with new lines installed in box conduit, (with additional isolation valves as needed to allow for completion of the installation while maintaining the steam supply to the campus buildings), and minor repairs as needed in Pits 17 and 18.
Justification:
This project is needed to secure the steam supply to the DHS, DOC, and DVA buildings at the SWC facility. The existing steam and condensate lines between Pits 17and 18 have become deteriorated with age and are currently leaking. Valves will need to be installed in the pits to allow the remainder of the steam distribution system to remain operational during the installation of the new box conduit and pipe. Minor modifications may be required to accommodate the installation of the box conduit.
This project will be joint-funded with the Department of Corrections and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
