Health Class: Rules and Expectations

(To be posted on website and in classroom only)

·  Be on time for class. According to school policy, you must be in the room when the bell begins to ring, in order to avoid being tardy. I expect you to come into the room and be in your seat working on your bell ringer when the bell rings. Coming to class late will not be tolerated. If you arrive after the tardy bell, go directly to the Tardy Station in front of the Auditorium.

·  Stay in your seat unless you receive permission to do otherwise. You will remain in your seat until the bell rings at the end of class.

·  Be prepared for class by having all necessary materials with you when you come to class. This means you must have a health notebook, paper, current assignments, and writing instrument. You will not be allowed to go to your locker to retrieve your materials.

·  Treat everyone with respect and courtesy at all times. Specifically, students will not interrupt the teacher, talk to others, or ask to use the bathroom while the teacher is talking. There will be no conversations between students during class, unless specifically given permission to work in groups. You MUST raise your hand and wait to be called on before speaking.

·  You will stay on task and are not allowed to do work from other classes.

·  Do not chew gum, or bring food or drinks in class.

·  When you must use the bathroom, take a pass (either your agenda book or a pass signed by Coach Bedenbaugh.) No student will be allowed to use the bathroom in the first 15 minutes, or last 15 minutes of class, per school policy.

·  You will be allowed to turn in 3 in-class assignments late during the semester and still receive full credit. No late in-class assignments will be accepted beyond that.

·  No playing cards, hats, sunglasses, hoods or other items that detract from the learning environment.

·  ABSOLUTELY no cell phones, mp3 players, video games, or any other electronic devices are allowed in class. These items will be confiscated.

·  You must have your shirt tucked in and ID on at ALL times.

·  Follow all school rules and policies.

·  Students will adhere to the Richland School District Two Honor Code, which includes the Academic Integrity Policy, as outlined in the Student Handbook.

If these policies are not followed, I will use the following discipline procedure:

1st offense: Name on the board as a warning.

2nd offense: Parent phone call.

3rd offense: Students will be written up and referred to an administrator.

** I reserve the right to refer a student directly to an administrator if the situation warrants this immediate action.
