The England boxing Minors & Schools championship is contested in adherence with the rules governing AIBA AOB & directives, policies & procedures issued by England Boxing LTD.
2017 Minor & Schools championship guidance rules
- The England boxing Minors championship is open to boxers born in 2005
The England boxing Schools championship is open to boxers born in
Class A 2004 & Class B 2003
All classes will be boxed over 3 x 1 ½ minute rounds
- ALL previous combat experience MUST be declared in the boxers BCR1. Failure to declare previous combat bouts may result in the boxer being removed from the championships and disciplinary proceedings taken against the boxer and or club.
- Entrants MUST have had a minimum of TWO competitive bouts (Skills not included) prior to entry into the championships.
- Boxer may only enter through one Regional Association MUST be registered to an England Boxing affiliated club.
- The boxers BCR1 medical book must be produced at the initial weigh in & at all subsequent rounds and the boxes medical must be in date for the duration of the championship.
- Boxers may transfer weight categories up until the initial weigh in. The boxers weight recorded by the Supervisor at the initial weigh in will determine the category they box in. Boxers cannot change weight category after the initial weigh in.
- All entry forms MUST be filled in accurately & honestly. Entry forms MUST be signed by both boxer & club secretary.
- By allowing a boxer to enter this championship, the boxer’s parent or guardian is deemed to have consented to any official video recording & photography & to have allowed for his or her name, photographs & video footage to be used for publicity purposes.
- During the 2-hour weigh in period, boxer’s may have as many check weights as required however, boxers are only allowed to lose a maximum weight of:
Up to 50kg – 300g
Up to 62kg – 500g
Over 62kg – 700g
- There WILL be a weight allowance from the PRE – QUARTER final round onwards:
Up to 50kg – 300g
Up to 62kg – 500g
Over 62kg – 700g
- Boxers & coaches are reminded that these championships are subject to anti-doping
regulations. RED or PARTIALLY RED gumshields are not permitted. Only approved hand wraps must be worn.
- The scoring machine (computer) should be used in all rounds of the championship
from association finals, onwards.
- If there is no opponent for a boxer at the national final, the boxer can only be awarded
the National title if they have boxed in an earlier round.
- An entry fee of £5.00 MUST accompany each application.
