Purpose of job:
To develop andsecure new business opportunities and maximise income from existing relationships for Family Fund Trading (FFT) and Family Fundfrom Local Authority commissioning relationships whilst seeking new opportunities to grow the business from other 3rd sector organisations.
Duties and responsibilities:
Family Fund Trading
  • Develop an annual Business Development plan for FFT to identify new sources of income and maximise income from existing clients and services.
  • Deliver theannual FFT business targets to plan, including personal income and new customer targets.
  • Develop joint marketing and delivery plans with 3rd parties and business partners to increase income from existing and new clients.
  • Drive and shape the development of new services and products in response to local need, pro-activelyapproaching all Local Authority and other 3rd sector commissioning opportunities.
  • Monitor and assess income and other business performance and develop remedial plans, where appropriate, to ensure targets are met.
  • Develop and deliver a relationship management model and services to ensure customers receive the necessary support, communications and assurance.
  • Maintain and manage customer relationships effectively including the assessment and delivery of change requests, MI reports, issue resolution and management of service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Develop and execute a business retention strategy and plan to ensure customers renew their contracts on an annual basis.
  • Proactively assess, clarify and validate customer needs on an on-going basis including evidencing relationship development and potential maximisation opportunities.
  • Develop new accounts with Local Authorities and other alternative organisations in order to deliver current or new services and so increase income (where we are not already working in collaboration with colleagues, where appropriate).
  • Support the on-boarding of new customers to ensure a smooth transition from prospect to client.
  • Communicate with colleagues within FFT and the shared services within Family Fund to ensure their support and understanding of all FFT business development activities and their role in delivering current and new initiatives.
Family Fund
  • Work with Directors to develop and implement the Corporate Business Development Strategy.
  • Agree annual financial targets for personally designated new business and to strive to attain these targets ensuring income is received in accordance with the Business Development Strategy.
  • Expand the current fundraising activity to create new income opportunities for Family Fund; promoting Family Fundwith professionalism, creativity and credibility to potential funders and commissioners.
  • Continuously research and develop an understanding of national and local policy, strategy, funding and needs landscape to ensure Family Fund is a sectorleader in meeting local needs to maximise business development opportunities.
  • Lead on the development and writing of a significant volume of bids, tenders and business proposals in response to the requirements of the Corporate Fundraising Strategy. Ensure that bids are submitted in a timely manner and to a high quality standard.
  • Persistently pursue funders and commissioners to maximise revenues from existing contracts as well as seeking new contractual opportunities from these organisations meeting personal annual target for new business generated income.
  • Build strategic relationships with senior stakeholders and commissioners to enable us to influence further upstream in the decision-making cycle.

Representing the Fund Group
  • Represent Family Fund Group at meetings, industry events, steering groups, presentation and conferences where required.
  • Write high quality, bespoke presentations, proposals and tender bids, understanding the needs of the target audience.
  • Position Family Fund & FFT as a shaper/ influencer of local policy and action, in addition to delivery.
General
  • Contribute to the planning and management of relevantbudgets.
  • Work with all relevant staff to ensure that marketing and communications functions are joined up and complementary.
  • Carry out appropriate duties as required supporting the operational management and strategic direction of Family Fund and FFT.
  • Carry out other appropriate duties as required by senior management.

Experience

  • Business Development and Fundraising experience, particularly working with Commissioners and funders.
  • Strong and demonstrable project management experience preferably within a business development setting.
  • Writing business development strategies and managing their successful implementation.
  • Writing local or central Government tenders and funding applications
  • Networking and developing relationships with organisations.
  • Managing a diverse workload and meeting personal income generation targets.
  • Managing multiple work streams and competing priorities.

Education/ Training
