JOINING INSTRUCTION -

MASTER CADET /PHASE FIVEWORKSHOP –

11-13DECEMBER 2015 – ALBERT HEAD TRAINING AREA, VICTORIA, BC

1.Cadets enrolled in the Master Cadet/Phase V training level are required to complete PO 513 Attend Workshops. Cadets shall attend a workshop planned and conducted by the Regional Cadet Support Unit (Pacific) (RCSU (Pac)) to enhance cadets’ skills, primarily but not exclusively, in leadership and/or instructional technique.This workshop will be conducted by CIC Officers, ranging in topics such as ethics, corrective action, dynamic instruction, critical thinking, and team building.

LOCATION

2.Cadets from Vancouver Island will train at Albert Head Training Area located CFB Esquimalt Victoria, BC. The facility is secured with locked gates. The facility has classroom, washrooms and parade square. Cadets will be housed in military type barracks, sleeping in bunk beds, with separate male and female sleeping quarters. Cadets will be required to bring a sleeping bag and a pillow case.

TRANSPORTATION

3. Local area cadets will be dropped off between 18:30 -19:00 11 Dec 2015 and picked up NLT 16:00 13 Dec 2015. Participating staff members will travel to the training location. Cadets outside the local area,transportations will bearranged by RCSU to and from the Training Area.

4.Cadets shall travel to and from the facility inSea Training Uniform (STU/FTU Army). Cadets are permitted to wear the issued cadet parka.Appropriate dress and deportment during transport is of the utmost importance. In case of emergency, The OIC Lt Virginia Hill, will be contacted or ACA PO2 Abel Sison 250-514-6093. Cadets shall arrive at the facility NLT 19:00hrs 11 Dec 2015 and will be dismissed at 1600hrs on 13 Dec 15 for Parental Pick-Up.

MEDICAL

5.Sufficient quantities of required prescription medications must be brought to last the duration of the weekend. Cadets requiring medical attention will have a CF2299 completed on any incidents. Injured personnel will be quickly attended to and taken to the appropriate medical facility if required.

RATIONS

6.Rations will be provided by RCSU at the facility.As per the CF 1158, the Canadian Forces (CF) does not have the mandate, are not equipped, nor staffed to offer allergen-free foods or food preparation conditions.

KIT REQUIRED

7.All items of kit and personal belongings must be marked clearly with the cadet’s name and cadet corps number. Parents/guardians and cadets are reminded that all personal items are the responsibility of the owner.

DISCIPLINE

9.In order to maintain a safe and orderly environment, cadets are required to follow the rules set out for the Canadian Cadet Organization. In the interest of providing a healthy environment, a strict NO smoking policy is applied for all cadets.

10.Cadets may bring a personal cell phone, however the RCSU (Pac) will NOT be responsible for lost or stolen items. The training facility will have limited or no facilities for securing valuable personal items.
