GROUP TASK 3

You are a creative agency that has been commissioned to come up with a campaign to encourage water sustainability in Singapore.

Using the material above, each group is to produce a campaign poster highlighting the most pressingchallenge(s)to water sustainability for Singapore, as well as the potential solutions to the issue(s) raised.

[Note: You are NOT to cite the water conservation infrastructure in MacRitchie Reservoir as a solution, as this has been covered in your Sec 1 IDS.]

You should also come up with an accompanyingproject brief(500 – 800 words) with the following sub-headings (the explanations for each sub-section is provided in blue):

(i)Rationale for Our Target Group

  • Reasons for picking your target profile.

(ii)Unpacking Our Slogan

  • What does your slogan mean?
  • Are there any intended puns or literary devices employed?

(iii)Symbolism of Design / Image(s) Chosen

  • Why have you chosen these images for your poster?
  • What emotions do you hope to evoke?
  • What are the reasons for the colour scheme / font / design elements you have picked?

(iv)Reasons for Our Selection of Problems and Solutions

  • Why have you identified the highlighted problem(s) as most pressing?
  • Why have you identified the proposed solutions as most potentially effective?
  • In both cases, compare and contrast with other possible problems and solutions out there.

(v)Evaluation of Persuasiveness of Our Campaign

  • Will our target group find the poster appealing?
  • Will the slogan resonate with them?
  • Will they see the importance of recognising the problem(s) we have identified?
  • Will they take up the solutions we have suggested?
  • State your reasons for all the sub-questions above.

The English Language and Literature Rubrics for Functional Writing will be used to assess your campaign poster and project brief.
