Be sure all referees and floaters sign in when you first get there. Be sure to put the time you arrived. You will be fined $1.00 if you do not sign in with the arrival time and out when you are leaving. Sign in at referee's table 30 minutes before your first game to check in and get your assigned games and equipment bag. Referee your assigned game. (Be sure you check the tag on the field bag, to be sure you have the right equipment bag, also be sure field equipment is all there and balls are inflated. Read over the rules for your age group. Check to make sure you have the rosters for your age group. If you are not there 30 minutes before your first game we will deduct $1.00 from your paycheck. For every minute you are late for your game we will also deduct $1.00 from your paycheck.

If you agree to referee games and cancel without a reasonable excuse back out we will deduct half a game fee.

If you are an assigned floater be sure you sign in 30 minutes before start time. You will need to stay by the referee shed so we can find you if needed. You will need to put down the start time and the ending time you floated on the Referee Game Report and get it signed by an on-site supervisor saying you were there to be used as a floater.

Be at the game site 15 minutes before the game time to check the goals, nets field condition, etc. Make sure everything is safe. Failure to be on the game site and conduct a safety check – deduct $1. Before each game, line all the players up and do a roster check. The rosters are in the field equipment bag. Each game that you do not do a roster and safety check we will deduct $1.00 from your paycheck. Any player not on the roster will not be permitted to play unless approved by an on-site supervisor. Check players to be sure they have shin guards under their socks. No jewelry can be worn by players during a game. This includes ear rings. In all cases, the referee must not consider these items to be dangerous. Anything worn in the hair that could be considered dangerous is not allowed. This includes all beads. JAWS does not allow metal cleats with a single spike in the toe area (football or baseball style).

Spectators must sit or stand on the opposite sideline from the teams’ bench. No one may sit or stand behind the goal line. On the U10 fields players and coaches must stay in the players box. The assistant coach must be listed on the roster and must stay seated throughout the game. The first time the coach gets out of the designated box is a waning. The second time out of the box the other team will get a free kick. Failure to comply with this paragraphs rules we will deduct $1 from your paycheck.

Blow whistle so everyone can hear. After making a call briefly explain all calls or mistakes.

Be sure an accident report is filled out for each accident that occurs during your games. The accident reports are in the field equipment bag. Get the coach to get someone to fill out the report.
